I haven’t really gotten into internet marketing before. I’ve looked around in the world of IM before, but never really attempted anything seriously. I have a full-time job, so my income is definitely not dependent on what I have earned on the Internet (nothing!), but I would like to start earning a second income, and I do think that I could enjoy it.
In the end of 2006, I started looking into internet marketing again, and decided that I would really try to give it a shot in 2007. I mean devoting time to it everyday, learning, researching, and absorbing information, and then making a whole-hearted attempt at it. Just earlier with week, I discovered a terrific resource, that I know will help me with my new venture. Its a great forum, www.warriorforum.com, filled with an amazing amount of valuable information, and great, helpful members.
Through Warrior Forum, I discovered a method of internet marketing, called Bum Marketing. Information all about bum marketing is all part of a free report written by Travis Sago, and can be downloaded at www.bummarketingmethod.com. I devoured this report, and decided that this was how I wanted to start in internet marketing. It sounded very doable, and it doesn’t cost any money to start, which is something else that I was looking for. I do plan, however, to invest my earnings right back into my efforts, as I have read about some great tools, that do cost some money, but I’m trying to pull this off with no out-of-pocket expenses. The method basically consists of writing articles, linking to related affiliate products within these articles, and submitting them to article directories, where they should get picked up by search engines and rank well. The whole secret to this, though, is finding how to find which keywords that will allow you to rank well, and still bring you traffic. If you are interested in this, I would suggest picking up his free report and finding out more.
I already had a Clickbank account, but I also went out and registered a Commission Junction and PayDotCom affiliate account. I was able to crank out 12 articles over the weekend 6/7th and submit them to various article directories/Squidoo.
I decided that I need to set goals for myself, to keep myself motivated and to not get off track. This blog was one of my goals, as I can hold myself publicly accountable. I also made a goal to write at least 3 articles a day during the work week, and 10 articles a day on the weekend. I developed these goals yesterday, and stuck to my goal of 3 article yesterday, and I still have 3 to crank out today.
I will be keeping you up to date on my affiliate earnings, to see how I can go from a $0 investment to whatever I may earn. As of today, the 9th, my earnings are still at $0, but I will post when I do (hopefully!) make my first sale, and will report my affiliate earnings weekly.
To help keep myself accountable, I will try to make a post daily documenting whether I did meet my goal, and any possible earnings earned that day. I’m hoping that by forcing myself to post everyday, I will force myself to do everything that I intended, so that I won’t have to go out and say that I failed.
Stay posted, and maybe subscribe to my RSS feed, and follow along with me on my journey, as I document my successes and failures. If I discover anything neat or that really worked out for me, I will share it with you (except for my gem keywords, of course!).
